Roots & Boots Training and Community Day May 2026

The Tree Climb Alliance’s annual Roots and Boots event was an incredible success, bringing together climbers, arborists, industry professionals, local businesses, and community members for 2-day event centered around training, connection, and growth.

From experienced climbers sharing knowledge to new faces getting involved for the first time, Roots and Boots created an atmosphere of encouragement, education, and unity.

The energy throughout the day reminded us how strong and passionate this community truly is, and it easily became one of the best and most impactful events we’ve hosted so far. We’re grateful to everyone who attended, volunteered, sponsored, and helped continue building the Tree Climb Alliance into something bigger every year.

Spring 2026 Bridgeport Elementary School Presentation

The Tree Climb Alliance visited Bridgeport Elementary School to give an educational presentation about trees and wildlife. Students learned how to identify different types of tree bark, tree buds, and leaves, as well as the kinds of animals that live in trees. The presentation also taught students what they should do if they encounter an injured animal, including the importance of contacting an adult or wildlife professional instead of trying to help the animal themselves.  Dan and Zac also displayed and discussed different climbing gear arborists use.

We look forward to seeing today’s youth play a positive role in future conservation efforts and hope to encourage a lifelong interest in nature, both in their own backyards and beyond.

Spring 2026 Chittenango High School Presentation

Mark Keating and Dan Smith recently spoke with students at Chittenango High School about the tree care industry, collaboration with IBEW Local 1249, and highlighted the importance of skilled trade careers.

They emphasized skilled trades as valuable, hands-on alternatives to college and military service, and underscored the importance of developing strong people skills as a key factor for successfully working with coworkers, customers, and for establishing professional networks.

We're proud to show students different opportunities and possibilities to build a successful future and continue to grow community, education, and safety.
